🌑 Ford C Max Battery Charge
There may be advantages to using a deep cycle battery in the C-Max. Having jumped my car when the battery had been dead, I do believe the car is started with the HVB. (Though this implies that if the HVB is dead, the car will not start. But will charging the 12V battery charge the HVB ? ) (By the way, it is around 30 lbs.)
Except Ford didn't make this charger. A 3rd party company did. Ford just put it's logo on it. Also, if you ever charge outside of home, you're using 3rd party charger. Ford should have done what most other manufacturers do and simply provide a convenience cord, as they already do and a recommendation for a wall charger.
A flat car battery can take around 10 to 24 hours to charge fully. But this battery charging time depends on the battery type and mode of charging. Here are a few interesting case studies for different battery types: It takes 12 hours to recharge a 48,000 mAh (48 amp) car battery using a 12 volt battery charger.

Recharging the C-Max Energi’s depleted battery pack takes approximately seven hours on a 120-volt charger; better to find a 240-volt unit that can do the deed in a more reasonable 2.5 hours.
The 12 volt battery is a vital component of the starting system in Ford C-Max. It powers the starter motor that turns over the engine. If the alternator isn’t charging the battery properly, the engine may crank very slowly and may not start. Slow crank is usually the first symptom of a dying battery. Symptom: Slow engine crank sound
Ford C-MAX Energi has the most range of any utility or compact vehicle by achieving an EPA-rated 620-mile range on a single tank and a single charge, taking customers 80 miles further than the Toyota Prius plug-in. C-MAX Energi achieves up to 21 miles in all-electric range – more than triple the Prius plug-in hybrid’s six-mile all-electric
I have 104Kmi on my C-MAX (Hybrid, not Energi) and never put a dime in except for routine maintenance - if possible like Paul said I would trade it back and either get a newer C-MAX or a Prius sedan.. seems like that car has issues with the charging electronics or battery.
